Capitol Now Offering Panasonic’s VIERA 65” ST60 Full HD Plasma TVs

Addition of Affordable, Feature-Rich ST Series Seen as a Competitive Advantage

EAGAN, MN, May 20, 2013 – Capitol, the leading electronics distribution source for residential systems integrators and PRO AV contractors, today announced that it now offers Panasonic’s critically acclaimed 65” VIERA® ST 65-inch ST60 Full HD plasma TV. The ST Series of plasmas consists of screen sizes ranging from 50- to 65-inches and a progressive array of features.

“We’re honored to bring one of the most eagerly awaited Panasonic TVs to our customers,” said Capitol President and CFO Curt Hayes. “Panasonic is the recognized leader in advanced HDTV for the home and PRO AV markets, and these new models offer an unbeatable combination of features and value, making them ideal for our dealers.”

Panasonic’s Smart VIERA ST60 Series addresses the growing demand for larger screens, interactivity, and interconnectivity. For starters, the models feature an intuitive menu of content that can be customized to suit individual tastes, with a wide selection of apps to choose from. Voice guidance leads users through the basic functions. Built-in DNLA-compatible WiFi and an HTML5 compatible Web browser facilitate content sharing. And not only can smartphone and tablet users simply “swipe” to exchange content with these HD big-screens, but they can also download a free app that enables their device to function as a remote control for the TV.

But what really distinguishes the ST Series is the picture. And nowhere is that more evident than with the ST60 65-inch model. It has already earned plenty of accolades from the media, including CNET’s first-ever 5-star TV rating. And HDGuru praised it as “the best overall image of any HDTV we’ve ever reviewed,” adding that it “sets a benchmark for HDTV performance.”

Panasonic’s Infinite Black Pro delivers a new level of contrast and its 2,500 Focused Field Drive ensures crisp, clear images even during hi-speed action scenes thanks to a light emissions optimization rate of 1/2500th of a second. Advanced conversion technology turns virtually any 2D content into lifelike 3D. And, in addition to the 1080p full HD resolution in 2D, viewers will also enjoy it in 3D as well – something not available on most other 3D-capable TVs.

Commented Ed Wolff, Vice President – Regional Sales, Panasonic Consumer Marketing Group of North America: "The level of service that Capitol provides to Panasonic’s System Integration and Pro AV markets is outstanding; it’s no surprise that their customers feel the same way. We are very proud of our close relationship with the Capitol team."

Capitol One Of A Select Group To Distribute Panasonic’s VC500 HD Visual Communications System

VC500 Features All The Necessary Ingredients For High Performance High Efficiency Multi-Location Video Conferencing

EAGAN, MN, February 1, 2011 – Capitol, the leading consumer electronics distribution source for residential systems and light commercial contractors, is now one of four select U.S. distributors offering Panasonic System Network Company of America’s VC500 HD Visual Communications System.

Panasonic’s HD Visual Communications System makes it possible to instantaneously communicate and collaborate with colleagues and industry experts wherever they happen to be. With full HD 1080i video and 360° audio delivered over a standard broadband connection, the Panasonic HDVC System allows companies to save money by reducing travel and improving productivity.

“Panasonic’s VC500 system represents a quantum leap forward in video conferencing capabilities,” commented Jeff Kussard, Capitol’s Director of Strategic Development. “The seamless integration of a brilliant HD display, high performance 360º audio and, most important, intuitive operation, has quickly made the VC500 the standard in modern video conferencing systems. Though we know it’s a hit with our long-time commercial integrator customers, we’re also hearing a tremendous amount of buzz from residential installers who are taking the plunge into the light commercial market. It’s an opportunity they need to explore.”

The VC500 HD video conferencing system greatly reduces the time and expense of traveling without sacrificing the benefits of an on-site meeting. Real-time HD video professional grade 360º audio allow remote participants to collaborate on issues and ideas while reducing travel time and operational expenses.

In order to offer its customers an easy-to-implement starting point, Capitol offers a comprehensive VC500 package featuring one high performance 360º echo canceling microphone, two HD video cameras, a 50” HD display, and the proprietary codec that ties the elements together into one efficient system. Customers who prefer flexibility in their choice of cameras and displays can opt for a package that includes only the codec and microphone. Capitol will, of course, customize systems to best fit the needs of their customers and end-users.

“Video conferencing is critical to facilitating communication and project management between two or more locations,” added Kussard. “The VC500 takes what was once a major undertaking and seamlessly simplifies the process so that participants can focus on the subject at hand, not operating and managing the system.”
